In addition to teaching non-professionals more about archaeology through our publications and volunteer program, the Center provides opportunities for archaeology students to gain practical experience in the application of preservation archaeology techniques.

Through the Preservation Archaeology Fellowship, substantial support is given to promising archaeology doctoral candidates.

Various semester-long internship opportunities provide undergraduate and graduate students in archaeology the chance to gain field experience and pursue original research projects. We partner with the intern's educational institution to insure that the intern receives academic credits for his or her research and field work.
