Site Summary: Built by the Douglas family in 1916, the mansion was designed to be used as a hotel for mining officials in the copper mining community of Jerome, Arizona, as well as a home for the family. The building was an architectural landmark from the day construction started using local adobe bricks, and featured high technology innovations such as a central vacuum system.

The mansion house is now a museum dedicated to the interpretation of the history of Jerome and copper mining in the region.

Getting There:
You can find the Jerome State Historic Park in the town of Jerome, on State Route 89A. The mansion is located on Douglas Road.
