Site Summary: Constructed by inmate labor in 1876, the Yuma Territorial Prison held a total of some 3000 people in its thirty-three years of operation.
The prison site served a number of functions for the town of Yuma after the site was closed, including part of a high school and a homeless shelter.
The State Park has a museum and visitor's center that offers "Old West Reenactments" every Sunday from October through April.
